History

1966
Pierre Bellon launches Sodexo in Marseille. He uses more than 60- year experience of his family in maritime catering for luxury liners and cruise ships. He begins with only several thousands of francs and with the only one company restaurant. In a short time his company provides food facilities in business companies, schools and hospitals throughout France.

1971
Sodexo expands abroad; the first foreign contract is in Belgium.

1978
The business of the Sodexo Service Vouchers starts up.

1983
Stocks and shares of Sodexo are sold at the Parisian stock market.

1992
Sodexo enters the market in the Czech Republic and launches the company Sodexo – catering and hospitality services Ltd. It opens the first Sodexo restaurant in the National Theatre.

1994
The outset of the Sodexo Pass Company– Service Vouchers and Cards - at the Czech market.

2002
Sodexo becomes a member of the stock market in New York

2003
Sodexo establishes the subsidiary Altys, stock company which provides facility management services.

2005
The launch of the new product Flexi Pass at the Czech market. It concerns with a unique service, so called small cafeteria where one voucher covers the field of education, health care, travelling and also culture and sport. The development of using vouchers not only in the field of employee benefits, but also in the field of business partner motivation and loyalty programmes.

2007
Sodexo celebrates 15-year anniversary at the Czech market, the image of the company is being changed. The companies Sodexo Pass, Sodexo mutual catering and services, Sodexo – school dining rooms and Altys Company start to work under one brand Sodexo. However, they remain independent legal subjects. The division Catering and facility management service introduces a new offer of the complex solution of services – integrated facility management.
